Keep warm this winter with a mug of classic hot chocolate. This recipe features our chocolate melting wafers, the special ingredient that gives this decadent treat its rich flavor.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups milk
- ½ cup milk or dark Bedré Chocolate Melting Wafers
- ¼ cup of sugar
- ¼ cup of milk or dark Bedre Chocolate Melting Wafers (Reserved for topping)
- Dash of salt (a few granules)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 pint of heavy whipping cream
Directions:
- In a saucepan bring the milk to a simmer. Add the melting chocolate in a little at a time and whisk as the chocolate melts. Stir in sugar, vanilla and add a dash of salt. Continue whisking and bring to a low boil, then remove from heat and pour into cups immediately.
- With the 1/4 cup of melting wafers, shave the chocolate for use as a topping.
- Serve in cups with whipped cream on top with shaved chocolate pieces.
